VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED September 28th - Lawn boy, out of darkness, and gender queer are available in the round rock isd school libraries - according to the public access library catalog AT ISSUE-LAWN BOY GRAPHICALLY DESCRIBES SEX ACTS BETWEEN TWO YOUNG BOYS, OUT OF DARKNESS DETAILS A FATHER RAPING HIS HIS OWN DAUGHTER, AND GENDER QUEER IS CHOCK FULL OF PORNAGRAPHIC PICTURES OF SEX, MASTURBATION, AND SEX TOYS... AMONG OTHER THINGS September 30th- my child is able to check out gender queer AMONG THE AWARDS ON THE FRONT IS AN "ALEX" AWARD.. DESCRIBED AS AN AWARD GIVEN TO BOOKS THAT HAVE A SPECIAL APPEAL TO YOUNG ADULTS AGES *TWELVE* TO 18. October 4th - All three books no LONGER searchable on library website anymore. October 6th- A concerned father meets with principal and librarian of cedar ridge and they discuss review of "LAWN BOY" book after his complaint. She says communities have different standards and he says "What community is 10 year olds having oral sex not obscene?" They agree to take out lawn boy. He also asks about gender queer. They say the books have been pulled- which the website seems to confirm as of Oct 4th OR PRIOR. But on October 6th -"Out out of Darkness" is able to be check out AFTER not searchable on website anymore. SO WHY WAS THE LIBRARIAN ABLE TO LOCATE AND HAND MY CHILD A BOOK THAT THE PUBLIC ACCESS LIBRARY CATALOG RETURNS AS "NO RESULTS FOUND?" *As of today's date, "Out of Darkness" is able to be searched for again on the public access website. 18 U.S. Code § 1470 - Transfer of obscene material to minors Whoever, using the mail or any facility or means of interstate or foreign commerce, knowingly transfers obscene matter to another individual who has not attained the age of 16 years, knowing that such other individual has not attained the age of 16 years, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both. Texas Penal Code - PENAL § 43.24. Sale, Distribution, or Display of Harmful Material to Minor (a) For purposes of this section: (1) “Minor” means an individual younger than 18 years. (2) “Harmful material” means material whose dominant theme taken as a whole: (A) appeals to the prurient interest of a minor, in sex, nudity, or excretion; (B) is patently offensive to prevailing standards in the adult community as a whole with respect to what is suitable for minors;  and (C) is utterly without redeeming social value for minors. (b) A person commits an offense if, knowing that the material is harmful: (1) and knowing the person is a minor, he sells, distributes, exhibits, or possesses for sale, distribution, or exhibition to a minor harmful material; (2) he displays harmful material and is reckless about whether a minor is present who will be offended or alarmed by the display...
