Fresh off retirement Gunner Callen is now able to speak freely and break through the propaganda about the Afghan withdrawal. (Full Interview) Battalion Gunner William J. Callen enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1999. After multiple deployments, he was most recently the Gunner of First Battalion, Eighth Marines. He has deployed twice as part of the Marine Rotational Forces Europe 19.2 and the 24th Marine Expeditionary Force. While deployed non the 24 MEU, Gunner Callen aided first Battalion Eight Marines in Theater Security Exercises throughout Europe and the Middle Ease eventually participating in Operation Freedom Sentinel in Afghanistan.
